CITY COLTON <br />ASSISTANT FINANCE DIRECTOR <br />DEFINITION <br />To plan, direct and review the areas of generalized accounting, <br />revenue collection and licensing and utility billing. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br />Receives general direction from the Finance Director. <br />Exercises direct supervision of professional, technical and <br />clerical staff. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, <br />the following: <br />Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies and priorities. <br />Supervise the financial activities of the City including <br />accounting, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, revenue <br />collections, licensing and Data Processing. <br />Review, evaluate and recommend improvements to the City's <br />administrative and financial internal control systems and <br />procedures; ensure audit compliance. <br />Prepare financial and administrative reports. <br />Prepare qualitative and quantitative analysis for the Finance <br />Director and City Manager. <br />Maintain records of City funds and municipal bonds. <br />Provide financial support and assistance to City department heads <br />and supervisors. <br />May participate in meetings before citizens, elected officials, <br />committees and boards on financial and administrative matters of <br />the City. <br />May approve by signature payments made by City in compliance with <br />budget approved appropriations; approve all personnel action <br />forms for budget control. <br />Prepare cost analysis of employee wage and benefit packages for <br />labor negotiations. <br />1 <br />
