CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of Apr i 1 1 7, 19 9 0 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: JERRY YOUNG, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Bid Award for Various Transformers to Date: April 9, 1990 <br />Cooper Power Systems in the Amount of $5,679.10 <br />and WESCO Utility in the Amount of $4,259.32 <br />On March 8, 1990, we advertised for quotations for various trans- <br />formers for the Electric Department. Bid opening was held March 22, <br />1990, at 2:30 p.m., in the General Services office. Four bids were <br />received and evaluated. <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing prices and delivery quoted by each <br />vendor. The recommended vendor's price is underlined for each trans- <br />former. The total price of bid award is listed at the bottom for <br />each recommended vendor. <br />Also attached is a Transformer Load Loss Evaluation which was done on <br />the computer. This evaluation shows the true cost of the transformer <br />over it's lifetime, using a combination of load calculations supplied <br />by the transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by the vendor. <br />The results of this evaluation determine the recommended vendor. The <br />lowest evaluated cost for each transformer is underlined. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends bid award on Item 1 & 2 to Cooper <br />Power Systems in the amount of $5,679.10 and on Item 3 to WESCO Utility <br />in the amount of $4,259.32. <br />Report Prepared by: M.
