BIDDER'S INSTRUCTIONS A. General Information: Bids will be received at the General Services Office at 160 South 10th Street, Colton, California, until 2:30 P.M., August 9, 1990 for the following: "Seven thousand, two hundred & seventy five (7275) ton of Asphalt Concrete Material, more or less; to be delivered in whole or parts at various locations within the City or delivered at plant site at the discretion of the Director of Public Works as may be required from time to time for the period August 1990 through June 1992, in accordance with Specification No. 1001 of the City of Colton. B. Proposals: All proposals must be submitted upon blank forms to be obtained from the Receptionist at City Hall, 650 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, California. All information on the Bid Sheet shall be entered in ink or typewritten. Mistakes may be crossed out and corrections inserted before submission of your bid. Corrections shall be initialed in ink by the person signing the bid. Corrections and modifications after closing time specified will not be accepted. Proposals must be signed by the bidder, with his address. If the proposal is made by an individual, his name and address must be shown. If made by a partnership, the name and address of each member of the partnership must be shown. If made by a corporation, the proposal must show the name of the State under the laws of which the corporation was chartered and the names, titles and business address of the president, secretary and treasurer. Submit bids in a sealed envelope with the word "Bid", Asphalt Concrete Material and the time and date of the bid opening clearly marked on the outside. Mailed bids must be addressed to General Services, 650 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, CA 92324. Bid opening will be held at 2:30 P.M., August 9, 1990 in the Conference Room, 160 South 10th Street, Colton, California. C. Rejection of Bids: Bids may be rejected if they show any alter— ations of form, additions not called for, conditional or alternative bids, incomplete bids, erasures or irregularities of any kind. D. Award of Contract: The award of the contract, if it is awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with all the requirements prescribed. Such award, if made, will be made within thirty (30) days after the opening of the proposals. All bids will be compared on the basis of the Engineer's estimate of the quantities of work to be done. E. Execution of Contract: The contract shall be signed by the successful bidder and returned, together with the Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, within ten (10) days after the bidder has received notice that the contract has been awarded.
