After rnanerous canplaints frcm horr�eowners about <br />inferior w�orlQrianship, pot�t�uy �z�o� construction, and the ongoing failure <br />of the contractor and/or developer to correct such situations, the City has <br />taken action to file a ccxr�laint with the State Contractors License Board and <br />worlQnanshi an��dinance penalizing developers in the future for poor <br />P• <br />On Decanber 19 , Counci]m3n Je.n�, Rios met with a ntunber of horneowners and the <br />developer, Wayne Napthal, During that meeting, Mr, Napthal agreed that all <br />code corr�liance and �er corr�laints which had already been identified wnuld <br />be "satisfactorily" resolved prior to Februazy 1. He further a� �t � <br />the contractor and individual haneawners were not able to a <br />for, or extent of, requested re 9z'� on the need <br />Pairs. he would sutmit to binding arbitsation. <br />The City was contacted by a nunber of har�o�e� y�te�day wh� �icated that <br />werk on their homes had either not been co�rpleted or had not been ccx�leted <br />in a satisfactozy manner, In accordance with our pledge of assistance, we wi11 <br />be9� �in9 an'anggnents for thisd party insp�tlons thx�ugh the State <br />Contractors License Boand, If your home has not been completed to your <br />satisfaction, w�e are i,equesting that you send us a list of the w�rk which remains <br />to be ccxr�leted. It would be helpful if y�u i�dicate on your list: <br />those itgns reported to the contractor prior to Decsnber 19 and those <br />reported after that date <br />• those items which the contractor has iridicated are corr�leted, but which <br />you feel require further w�rk. <br />Once w�e have received your 1istS� we Will pnxeed to schedule individual or <br />9�uP �etings to discuss further action. <br />���11man Jeny Rios has arranqed a rr�eeting With the developer, himself and <br />staff for �esday, February 6, 1990, from 5:00 - 7;00 p.m. at Paradise Hills <br />(model hanes area). He encourages you to attend that meeting to discuss your <br />individual pxnblems. Later that sarne evening, at their re <br />the City Council will hear a status report on thi.s matter and discusslfur�her g� <br />action. <br />
