CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of Fetruary 6, 1990 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: STEPHEN EDWARDS, CITY ATTORNEY <br />SUBJECT: RESIGNATION OF LESLIE KEANE <br />Date: 2/6/90 <br />Leslie Keane has resigned effective February 16, 1990. The resignation occurred <br />after the Council agenda was posted. Upon the Council so determining by 2/3rd <br />vote, the Council may act with regard to the matter. <br />The appropriate motion is: <br />"The need to take action arose subsequent to the <br />agenda being posted." <br />Next, it is in order for the Council to consider and act upon the resignation. <br />The attached resolution accepts it. The appropriate motion is to adopt the <br />resolution. <br />Next, it is in order for the Council to consider a successor to Ms. Keane. Council <br />Resolution R-67-89 adopted May 16, 1989, which appointed Ms. Keane provides that <br />in the event that she "is unable to exercise the duties of City Manager by reason <br />of disability, absence or the like, then Stephen W. Edwards is designated to <br />perform such duties during such period of disability or absence." <br />Resolution is the form for Council action as to the position of City Manager. <br />Various alternatives are available to the Council. Upon direction by the Council, <br />staff will furnish a form of resolution as required. <br />Brown Act does not prevent the Council from holding closed sessions to consider <br />the appointment, employment, evaluation of performance of employees, including <br />the City Manager. Action taken to appoint or employ (and any role call vote) <br />shall be publicly reported at the meeting or at the next public meeting. <br />Attachments: Resolutions <br />Page 1 of— Item No <br />
