SOTELO, City Manager lew <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Wood Poles to San Diego Date: June 11, 1990 <br />Wood Preserving in the Amount of $14,803.02 and for <br />Crossarms to Southwest Power in the Amount of $1,600.18. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City carries various sizes of wood poles and crossarms in the Electric <br />Stores inventory. When the review point is reached in inventory, the <br />Storekeeper submits a requisition to re -order based on the history of <br />past usage. <br />On May 17, 1990, General Services advertised for sealed bids for three of <br />these requirements. Bid opening was held at 3:30 p.m., May 29, 1990, in <br />the General Services office. Four bids were received and evaluated. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM <br />None <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing price, delivery and special terms <br />for each vendor. The recommended vendor's price is underlined for <br />each requirement. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends bid award for the wood poles to San Diego Wood Preserving <br />in the amount of $14,803.02 and the crossarms to Southwest Power in the <br />amount of $1,600.18. <br />Report Prepared by: Mary J.
