CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT For Council Meeting of June 19, 1990 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council FROM: EDMUND F. SOTELO, City Manager SUBJECT:Date: June 7, 1990 Award of Bid for One Current Transformer Field Tester to Spinlab Utility Instruments, Inc., in the Amount of $9,756-12 -- BACKGROUND The City Council approved an appropriation of $4,700.00 in this years budget for the purchase of a Current Transformer Field Tester for the Electric Department. On May 17, 1990, General Services advertised for sealed bids for this requirement. Bid opening was held at 2:30 p.m., June 5, 1990, in the General Services office. One bid was received from Spinlab Utility Instruments, Inc. for a Model 660, Bird Dog. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM The proposal received for this requirement is $9,756.18. The City Council approved an appropriation of $4,700.00, which leaves an additional re- quirement of $5,056.18 to purchase this equipment. ALTERNATIVES There is an additional $15,000.00 available in this account from savings on other equipment purchases and equipment that will not be purchased from this years budget. These savings can be utilized to pay the additional $5,056.18 needed to make this purchase. FINANCIAL IMPACT None ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT None RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends expenditure of additional $5,056.18 and award of bid to Spinlab Utility Instruments, Inc., in the amount of $9,756.18.
