r..- CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of March 20, 1990 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: JERRY YOUNG, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Bid Award for Various Transformers to Date: March 12, 1990 <br />Pauwels Transformers in the Amount of $15,091.75 <br />Ariel Yn ung &Co- in the Amount of $71,611-79 <br />On February 15, 1990, we advertised for quotations for various trans- <br />formers for the Electric Department. Bid opening was held March 6, <br />1990, at 2:30 p.m., in the General Services office. Four bids were <br />received and evaluated. <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing prices and delivery quoted by each <br />vendor. The recommended vendor's price is underlined for each trans- <br />former. The total price of bid award is listed at the bottom for <br />each recommended vendor. <br />Also attached is a Transformer Load Loss Evaluation which was done on <br />the computer. This evaluation shows the true cost of the transformer <br />over it's lifetime, using a combination of load calculations <br />supplied by the transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by <br />the vendor. The results of this evaluation determine the recommend- <br />ed vendor. The lowest evaluated cost for each transformer is under- <br />lined. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends bid award on Item 1 to Pauwels <br />Transformers in the amount of $15,091.75 and on Item 2 to Young & <br />Co. in the amount of $7,611.75. <br />Report prepared by: M.
