CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of March 20, 1990 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: John C. Hutton, Director of Public Works <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Waiver of Bid Process and Purchase Date: March 15, 1990 <br />of lWo Vans for Weekend Workers Program <br />The Council, at its February 20, 1990 meeting, the renewal of the contract with the <br />County of San Bernardino for the Restitution Program. <br />As the Council is aware, the program has been very successful and the received well <br />by the community. However, the workers are being transported to the work site in the <br />back of the City pickup trucks. This practice is not safe and could lead to injuries <br />to the workers. Staff has investigated the possibility of purchasing large passenger <br />vans to transport the workers. <br />Two used vans have been located and may be purchased for $3,000 each. The Auto Shops <br />Superintendent has inspected the vans are in good running condition.
