CITY OF COLTON a <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of 1&y 1, 1990 <br />TO: Honorable City Council <br />FROM: Mayor Frank A. Gonzales <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Resolution Establishing Membership <br />in the County Wide Task Force for AB 939 <br />Date: April 25, 1990 <br />As Council is aware Assembly Bill 939 passed by the State of California requires local <br />agencies to provide by legislation a means to implement a source reduction plan. The <br />County of San Bernardino, acting as lead agency, is coordinating a solid waste task <br />force to assist with the development and implementation of the source reduction and <br />recycling elements of the plan. <br />The attached Resolution requires one representative who must be an elected City <br />official and a designated alternate who need not be an elected official (staff member <br />such as the Director of Public Works). Since this is a mandated program that has <br />specific dates for implementation by the agencies involved it is imperative that the <br />City be represented at the task force meetings. <br />Staff recommends the following: <br />1. Approve the Resolution establishing membership with the <br />solid waste task force. <br />2. Select an elected representative from the Council. <br />3.
