SOTELO, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Bid Award for Transformers for the Electric Date: May 7, 1990 <br />Department to Young & Company in the Amount <br />of $7,903.77 <br />On April 19, 1990, we advertised for quotations for various trans- <br />formers for the Electric Department. Bid opening was held May 3, 1990, <br />at 3:00 p.m., iin the General Services office. Three bids were received <br />and evaluated. <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing prices and delivery quoted by each <br />vendor. The recommended vendor's price is underlined for each trans- <br />former. The total price of bid award is listed at the bottom for <br />the recommended vendor. <br />Also attached is a Transformer Load Loss Evaluation which was done on <br />the computer. This evaluation shows the true cost of the transformer <br />over it's lifetime, using a combination of load calculations supplied <br />by the transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by the vendor. <br />The results of this -evaluation determine the recommended vendor. The <br />lowest evaluated cost for each transformer is underlined. <br />RECOMMENATION: Staff recommends bid award to Young & Company _n the <br />amount of $7,903.77 . <br />Report Prepared by: <br />�Y <br />M.
