EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT <br />1. PARTIES AND DATE. The parties to this Agreement are the <br />City of Colton, hereinafter called "City", and Edmund F. Sotelo, hereinafter <br />called "Employee". The date of this Agreement is May 15 , 1990. <br />2. RECITALS. <br />2.1 City wishes to retain the services of Employee as City <br />Manager and to induce Employee to remain in such position. <br />2.2 At the same time, City and Employee wish to provide a <br />mutually acceptable means for termination of Employee's services. <br />2.3 City has determined it to be in the best interests of <br />City that Employee be employed as City Manager. Therefore, for reasons of <br />efficiency, continuity, and security, this Agreement is executed. <br />3. TERMS. <br />3.1 City hereby employs Employee, who accepts such employment <br />to serve as its City Manager to perform the functions and duties set forth <br />in Chapter 2.16 of the Colton Municipal Code, as well as such other <br />functions and duties as the City may from time to time assign. <br />3.2 Employee hereby agrees to perform such functions and <br />duties on a full-time basis, to the best of his ability, in an efficient and <br />competent manner and in accordance with the City Manager Code of Ethics as <br />promulgated by the International City Managers Assocation. <br />3.3 The term of this Agreement is from the date in Section <br />1 to May 14, 1992, or as sooner terminated by the City, pursuant to Section <br />3.7 and Section 2.16.020 of the Colton Municipal Code. <br />-1- <br />
