SOTELO, City Manage jo� <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Various Transformers to Date' November 14, 1990 <br />Pauwels Transformers in the Amount of $9,814.60 and <br />WESCO Utility in t-hP Amrnint- of $17,189 58 <br />RArYnRC umn <br />Utility transformers are ordered into Electric Stores inventory as <br />required. The quantity and sizes are projected by the City Electrical <br />Engineer as plans are submitted for new development and replacement <br />transformers are needed. <br />On October 18, 1990, General Services advertised for sealed bids for <br />some of these requirements. Bid opening was held at 2:30 p.m., November 5, <br />1990, in the General Services office. Four bids were received and <br />evaluated. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM <br />None <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None <br />FINANCICAL IMPACT <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing price and delivery quoted by each <br />vendor, with the recommended vendor's price underlined for each trans- <br />former. The total of bid award is listed at the bottom for each vendor. <br />Also attached, is a Transformer Load Loss Evaluation, which was done on <br />the computer. This evaluation shows the true cost of the transformer <br />over it's lifetime, using a combination of load calculations supplied <br />by the transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by the vendor. <br />The result of this evaluation determines the recommended vendor.
