Aguilera, Director of C unity Developmerrt <br />By Lisa Moren, Assoclate PlannerG��� <br />SUBJECT: Adoptfon ot Re�uletion 1 b- Trip Reduction Plan <br />- City Corporate Ysrds <br />In June � 990, the City of Cotton submitted two (2) Trip Reduction Plans to the South <br />Coast Air Quality Management District (AQ.M.D.) for review and approval. The Regula- <br />tion 15 Trip Reduction Pian for the City of Colton Corporate Yards was approved and <br />retumed to the City for adoption and impiemerrtstion on October 12,1880. The Chric <br />Center Plan is stiN under review� but will be submitted to Council for adoption as soon <br />as it is received from the Air Quaitty Manegement District <br />Staff is requesting adoption of the Corporate Yard Trip Reduction Plan at this time in <br />order to begin its' implemenis�on immediately. The Air Quality Management District <br />penalties for non-compltance are very severe, so it is imperativve that the Cfty act in a <br />timely manner to avoid criminai and civil penatties, which can amourrt to �'t5,000.00 <br />per day. <br />The pian is mandated by law and is intended to reduce vehicle trips primarily between <br />the hours of s:00 am. end 10:00 am. The plan requires full support �nd cooperstlon <br />from the City Councii, City Manager, and Departrnent Heads in order to assist in meet- <br />ing the Air Quality Management District requirements.
