CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT (CONTINUED) <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF <br />SUBJECT: <br />INCREASE EXISTING HOURLY PAY RATE FOR CROSSING GUARDS <br />PURPOSE <br />1. To give crossing guards a high enough salary that they <br />can cover their transportation costs for working a split <br />day shift and make it worth the inconvenience. <br />2. To enable the police department to add more crossing <br />guard positions should the need arise. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the City Council set the pay rate for the <br />crossing guard position at $1.00 an hour above the state minimum <br />hourly wage. <br />Report Prepared by: B.
