Hutton, Director of Public Works <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Amendment to Utility Easement with Date: October 9, 1990 <br />Southern California Edison at the Walnut <br />Reservoir Site <br />RACK(-." Nn <br />Southern California Edison has an existing transmission easement with a pole line <br />across the City's Walnut Reservoir site located north of Mill Street in the City <br />of San Bernardino. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: <br />Southern California Edison wishes to replace the existing wood transmission poles <br />with steel towers (poles) adding an additional line and modifying their easement <br />with the City of Colton to allow for the construction, maintenance and operation <br />of the replaced lines. <br />Staff has reviewed the request from Southern California Edison to modify the <br />existing easement to include the installation of two additional steel towers, and <br />for future maintenance of the lines across the Walnut Reservoir site property. <br />Taking into consideration that the two additional poles are being placed into an <br />existing easement (no additional easement or expanded width is being requested) <br />and the modification encompasses the maintenance, operation and reconstruction <br />of these two additional poles, staff has determined that the request is not <br />unreasonable. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />ENVIRONMEENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECCNMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the amendment to the utility easement with <br />Southern California Edison at._t;he Walnut Reservoir site. <br />CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENCE._ <br />Attachments: I CENT RAL RECORDS <br />FILE NO. ---Z04-.L ..-�----.. <br />Page 1 of— Item No.—I------ <br />
