Hutton, Director of Public Works` <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Emergency Repairs to Well #21 <br />in the Amount of .$9,186.21 <br />RAC V r.Pr)T TNr) - <br />Date: August 27, 1990 <br />Well #21 is the City's largest producing water well. The Well is located in <br />the north part of the City and feeds the La Loma Reservoir. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: <br />On Wednesday, August 22 Well #21 shut down. Tri County, a well repair contractor, <br />inspected the Well and it was determined that the well shaft and bowls hand been <br />damaged. Tri County also stated that after the repair of the Well, the Well would <br />produce twice as much. The quote for inspecting the Well was $1,500 and the quote <br />for the needed repairs was $7,186.21 for a total cost of $9,186.21 to repair <br />Well #21. <br />The City Manager approved the costs for the repair of Well #21 on August 23 due to <br />the extreme emergency to have Well #21 put back into service. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />None, well repairs are part of the operations and maintenance budget. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the City Manager's action previously taken <br />for the repair of Well #21. <br />RAL/lj <br />CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENCE: <br />Attachments: <br />Page 1 of__—_ <br />ORIGINAI <br />CEN m RAL REC01 IDS <br />FILE NO..l 10 6.3q/0 <br />
