SOTELO, City Manage <br />SUBJECT:p Date: March 26, 1991 <br />Award of Bid to Replace Manual Thermostats <br />with Programmable Type at Various City Offices to <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City's Sr. Energy Services Specialist worked with a consulting firm <br />to conduct an energy audit of the City Buildings. One of the recommda- <br />tions of the audit was to replace the existing manual thermostats at <br />various City offices to the programmable type to save on energy consump- <br />tion. <br />On March 1, 1991, General Services advertised for sealed bids for this <br />requirement. Bid opening was held at 3:30 p.m., March 18, 1991, in the <br />Corporate Yard Conference Room. Seven bids were received and evaluated. <br />One bid was returned as non-responsive as there was no bid security en- <br />closed. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM <br />None <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing the price, delivery and installation <br />time for each vendor. The recommended vendor's price is underlined. <br />Funds are available. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends bid award for this requirement to C & G Air Conditioning <br />in the amount of $3,984.14. <br />Report Prepared by: Mary J.
