CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of April 2, 1991 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Gale A. Drews, Electric Utility Director <br />SUBJECT: Power Line Crossing Railway Tracks License Date: March 27, 1991 <br />Agreement with Southern Pacific Transportation Company <br />BACKGROUND The Department has existing overhead line on the East side <br />of Southern Pacific Railway Tracks on Citrus Street. The Department <br />has no facilities at this time with available capacity to serve power <br />West of Railway Tracks. The existing Valley Circuit serving some of <br />the area in the western part of the City is near capacity. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM The Department has received plans for <br />tract homes and a school near the Meridian Avenue and Randal Avenue <br />area. The Department has to cross the railway tracks to extend the <br />line to meet this new load demand. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />None <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends Council approve authorization <br />for Mayor to execute the agreement. <br />City Manager's Concurrence <br />Attachments: <br />Page 1 of —1— Item No 6 <br />FILE , x .................. .Lj.,w <br />
