011
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For Council Meeting of February 5, 1991
TO:. Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: EDMUND F. SOTELO, City Mana7arious
SUBJECT: Council Approval to Award Personal Date: January 28,
Computers and Accessories to Computerland of
Redlands in the Amount of $10,879.53 on the
Basis of Informal Quotations
BACKGROUND
1991
General Services received requisitions for personal computers and acces-
sories from various departments in the City. On January 10, 1991, General
Services advertised for sealed bids for these requirements. Bid opening
i
was held at 2:30 p.m., January 22, 1991, in the General Services office.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
No bids were received.
ALTERNATIVES
The City could readvertise for sealed bids for these requirements, however
the result would likely be the same and it would cause a longer time delay
in receiving these requirements. Staff obtained informal quotations for
if the computer requirements and an analysis is attached for your review
showing the prices from each vendor.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
None. Funds are available.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
None
Ili
RECOMMENDATION
Staff feels it is in the best interest of the City to purchase these
requirements based on the informal quotations received. Staff recom-
mends that we purchase the computer equipment from Computerland of
Redlands in the amount of $10,879.53.
Report Prepared by: Mary J. Scribner, Buyer
Attachments: Analysis of Informal Quotations
Page 1 of— 1T Item No. 7
dtNTOAL RECORDS
