CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For Council Meeting of February 19, 1991
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: John C. Hutton, Director of Public Works
SUBJECT: Authorization to Increase Sewer Budget for Date: February 14, 1991
Professional Services Covering Operations
and Maintenance and Professional Services
RAc'K(;RCx
Nn
At the Council meeting on February 5, 1991 the contracting firm of CMI was provided
an amended contract to operate and maintain the additional facilities recently
constructed at the City's secondary sewer treatment facility.
In addition to the approved amended contract, professional services provided by Krieger
and Stewart have been increased to include services for the proposed southwest
annexation relating to sewer, and sewer pretreatment program assistance during
the program review period.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:
With additional facilities recently constructed at the City's secondary treatment
plant to meet development needs and additional services by Krieger and Stewart the
sewer budget for professional services has been depleted and additional funds are
being requested to cover these services. Staff's initial budget projects had
included these additional costs.
ALTERNATIVES:
None, these additional funds are necessary to cover expanded contract services as
approved previously.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None, sufficient funds exist in the contingency reserve fund balance to cover
these expanded services as was determined necessary in the sewer master plan and
rate study.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None, these services are necessary to retain environmental standards related
to waste treatment.
Attachments: 1
Page t of 2_ Item No. 7
.. _ s a .;. _...m... r.
