Colton
Department: ELECTRIC
September 11, 1989
Phan* No.: 714-370-5104
-5105
Mr. victor Maylon
Line Mechanic II
22062 Tanager Street
Grand Terrace, CA 92324
Subject: NOTICE OF ONE DAY SUSPENSION WITHOUT PAY
Dear Mr. Maylon:
After reading your written response to Robert Kalich, T/D
Superintendent, dated September 7, 1989, to the Notice of Intent to
Suspend Letter dated September 5, 1989, and considering oral
statements by witnesses of events at the job site, I have come to
the conclusion that it is appropriate to proceed with the action
suspending you from your job of Line Mechanic II for a period of
one work day, without pay, effective at the end of your regular
work shift on Tuesday, September 12, 1989. You are to report back
to work at the beginning of your regular work shift on Thursday,
September 14, 1989.
The action is being taken for the following grounds:
1. Insubordination -
On Tuesday, August 29, 1989, your immediate Supervisor,
Anthony Casey, tried to discuss with you at the work site
your lack of performance in the quantity of work you were
completing during your normal work hours. Your response in
part was "Listen, if you don't like the job I'm doing, get
somebody else'.
Rather than continue the discussion on the job site, in
front of other personnel, your Supervisor, Mr. Casey, after
arriving at the Department's offices, requested that you
meet with him in the Conference Room.
Again, in the Conference Room, while your Supervisor, Mr.
Casey, was trying to deal with your problem of lack of
performance on the job, you would not discuss the matter and
became argumentative and loud and yelled "Just who in the
Hell do you think you are"?
r-Vry nc r•rnl Tnu rwir• r•aWyan • SSO N.
