CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF.
(CONTINUED)
July 16, 1991
SUBJECT: Consider Support For Relocation Of County Medical
Facility In The City Of Colton
The proposed site is at the edge of the City, adjacent to the freeway,
and is sufficiently removed from existing residential areas; there should
be little inconvenience for existing Colton residents. Although the area
has future potential for development as an industrial/commercial park,
there are no immediate plans for such a development. It is likely that
the construction of the hospital will actually increase the potential for
development of the surrounding vacant land. In addition, during the
construction of the facility and its operation, numerous job
opportunities will be available to Colton residents. Finally, a hospital
which is within our city boundaries and easily accessible will be of
benefit to all of our residents, particularly our senior citizens and low
income residents.
RECOMMENDATION•
I recommend that we go on record strongly in support of the relocation of
the County medical facility to the proposed Colton site.
Item No
