CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF <br />SUBJECT: <br />(CONTINUED) <br />March 19, 1991 <br />A survey of nearby police agencies was conducted as to the <br />services that they provide and the fees charged for those <br />services. It was found that the City of Colton has substantially <br />lower fees than all of the other agencies and provides the same <br />service for these fees. <br />PURPOSE <br />1. To increase fees for services provided at a level <br />commensurate with fees charged by neighboring police <br />agencies. <br />2. To increase funds available to the City General Fund by <br />an additional $30,000. <br />3. To recover part of the cost of labor, materials, and <br />overhead involved in processing these services. <br />4. To reduce the demands for services which directly impact <br />the Police Department's ability to serve the public. <br />The staff recommends that Council: <br />1. Increase dog license fees as follows: <br />Standard dog license fee $16.00 <br />Neutered or spayed dog license fee $ 8.00 <br />Penalty for late renewal (by July 1st) $11.00 <br />Duplicate Dog License $ 1.00 <br />2.
