SOTELO, CITY MANAGER <br />SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF JOB CLASSIFICATION LIST AND <br />PAYROLL RATE SCHEDULES FOR COLTON EMPLOYEES' <br />Date: 05-16-91 <br />BACKGROUND: In 1990, the City Council approved and adopted multi- <br />year Memorandums of Understanding and Agreements with the Police <br />Rank and File Unit, Police Management Unit and Executive <br />employees. These two-year contracts and agreements provide for a <br />total compensation survey to be conducted by the City using <br />figures in effect as of March 1, 1991. The City agreed to adjust <br />the employees' salaries to the median of the survey. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: The total compensation survey has been <br />completed. The salaries are to be increased retroactively to <br />January 1, 1991 for Police Rank and File and Police Management <br />employees and to December 22, 1990 for the position of Police <br />Chief in the Executive Agreement.
