TO: HONORABLE MAYOR and CITY COUNCIL
A
FOR: Council Meeting of 28 May 1991
FROM: Jaime R. Aguilera, Director of Community Developmen1' G
SUBJECT: Acceptance of Bid for the Manufacture of 100 Historic Plaques as
Recommended by the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission. E
BACKGROUND:
The 1990 -1991 Fiscal Year budget for the Community Development Department included
a reserved amount of $10,000 for the purchase of 100 bronze plaques to identify historic N
properties in the City. Under the direction of the Historic and Scenic Preservation
Commission, staff initiated the process in April, 1991, by sending out Request for Proposals
for the manufacture of the plaques. At the Historic Commission meeting of May 8, 1991, D
the Commission reviewed and selected the lowest bid submitted by Monumental Bronze
from San Bernardino, in the amount of $3,195.00
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:
None
ALTERNATIVES:
None
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
With the provision of plaques as an incentive to the Historic Program adopted by the City E
Council, and the accepatance of the total bid in the amount of $3,195.00 consisting of less
than one third of the previously approved budgeted amount of $10,000, staff feels that
there will be no financial impact on the City. P
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None Q
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the approval of bid for the manufacture of historic plaques in the amount R
of $3,195.00 in the City's continuing efforts to preserve the C' 's history and heritage.
CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENC
CITY OF COLTON
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
PLANNING DIVISION
/,3
Agenda Report CC PLAQU PAGE 1 OF 1
GEr,j-i'uL RECORDS
FILE NO. _ a o 3: -----------------0-4.
