ACEVEDO, Finance Director <br />(�01 <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for 3 -Phase Padmounted Load Date: October 28, 1991 <br />Interrupter Switches to A. B. Chance in the <br />Amount of $29,028.93 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Colton Electric Department has a requirement for some Pad - <br />mounted, 3 -Phase Load Interrupter Switches. On October 10, 1991, General <br />Services advertised for sealed bids for this requirement. <br />Bid opening was held at :'430 p.m., October 24, 1991, in the General <br />Services office. Six bids were received and evaluated. <br />DISCUSSION <br />A Bid Analysis is attached for your review showing price and delivery <br />terms for each vendor. The recommended vendor's price is underlined. <br />The low bid was received from Cooper Power Systems. Their bid does not <br />meet the City's specifications. The City's specifications called for an <br />air insulated switch and Cooper Power Systems proposed to furnish an oil <br />insulated switch as an alternate to the specifications. The second low <br />bid was received from A.B. Chance Co. and it meets the City's specifica- <br />tions. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends bid award for this requirement to A.B.
