CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For Council Meeting of November 5, 1991
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: John C. Hutton, Director of Public Works I
SUBJECT: Solid Waste Task Force Membership
RnrkrRni imn
Date: October 31, 1991
The Solid Waste Advisory Task Force membership is comprised of government agency
members, the solid waste industry, enviornmental organizations, the general public,
and special districts.
DISCUSSION:
Within the ten public agency members, there are no alternates designated. The County
Solid Waste Task Force would like to include a provision for alternates for the public
agency members, by having each agency adopt a resolution to County Resolution No.
90-134, as required by Public Resources Code Section No. 40950.
The Council may choose not to approve a resolution allowing alternates to the Task
Force, however, this could cause long term problems with continual membership for
the City. The lack of an alternate could cause the City to lose its voting on the
Task Force.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The lack of an alternate will not cause any financial impact.
RECCNMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached Resolution allowing alternates for
public agency members to the Solid Waste Advisory Task Force.
DSM/1j
CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENCE:
Attachments:
Page 1 of
Item No. ,/' '
CENTRAL RECORDS
FILE NO............................
