Ramos, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: Certification of Initiative Petition Date: <br />Entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Colton <br />Providing for Continued Election of Mayor At <br />Large and for Six City Council Members to be <br />Elected by Districts Starting as of the 1992 <br />General Municipal Election for Those Seats <br />Expiring and providing for District Boundaries <br />and Assignment of Incumbent Council Members to <br />Districts." <br />As the City Council is aware an Initiative Petition on Proposed Ordi- <br />nance, Providing for Continued Election of Mayor At Large and for Six <br />City Council Members to be Elected by Districts Starting as of the <br />1992 General Municipal Election for Those Seats Expiring and Provid- <br />ing for District Boundaries and Assignment of Incumbent Council Mem- <br />was filed in the Office of the City Clerk on <br />bers to Districts <br />}k, 1991. <br />/V <br />Pursuant to Elections Code Section 3708, a random sampling of 500 <br />signatures was conducted. The sampling was completed on October 31, <br />1991. The attached certificate finds the petition sufficient, with <br />total number of signatures found sufficient being 371 out of the ran- <br />dom 500 signatures verified. Based on the Secretary of State's for- <br />mula, the statistical sampling finds that the valid signatures repre- <br />sent 190.4 percent. A percentage of 111 percent is required in order <br />to declare the petition sufficient. <br />The petition having been determined to be sufficient, the following <br />is submitted for your consideration and/or action: <br />1.
