ER82-427 <br />BACKGROUND• <br />The City rer_eived a check in the amount of $1,615,437.62 from <br />Edison for partial refund, which includes interest, of past over- <br />charges. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: <br />N/A <br />ALTERNATIVES• <br />N/A <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The funds would be used to defray a portion of future rate <br />increases. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is Staff's recommendation that the refund monies be set aside, <br />in the existing interest-bearing account containing previous <br />refunds, to be used for purchased power r.osts and that all future <br />like refunds be handled in the same manner.
