ACEVEDO, Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Various Transformers to Date: July 27, 1992 <br />General Electric Supply in the Amount of $14,621.35 <br />BACKGROUND <br />Utility transformers are ordered into Electric Stores inventory for <br />use on an as required basis. The quantity and sizes are projected <br />by the City's Electrical Engineer as plans are submitted for new <br />development and replacement transformers are needed. On July 7, 1992, <br />General Services advertised for sealed bids for some of these re- <br />quirements. Bid opening was held at 3:00 p.m., July 21, 1992, in the <br />General Services office. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Four bids were received and evaluated. A Bid Analysis is attached <br />showing price and delivery quoted by each vendor. The recommended <br />vendor's price is underlined for each transformer. The total of <br />bid award is listed at the bottom for each vendor. Also attached, <br />is a Transformer Load Loss Evaluation, which was prepared on the <br />computer. This evaluation shows the true cost of the transformer <br />over its useful lifetime, using a combination of load calculations sup- <br />plied by the transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by the <br />vendor.
