Hutton, Director of Public Works 4 <br />SUBJECT: First Reading of Ordinance Setting Speed Date: July 27, 1992 <br />Zone Throughout the City <br />C_ -1 . ► a <br />The City has established radar speed zones on numerous streets within its <br />jurisdiction and under law, these radar zones must be established by a speed zone <br />survey that is re -surveyed every five years in order to hold validity in court. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Staff has recently completed the required five year study update in accordance with <br />the California Vehicle Code. <br />Riverside Ave., Eucalyptus Ave., "M" St. and 9th St. were added to the survey per <br />the request of the Police Department and Traffic Corrmittee. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recomriends that Council waive the first reading of the Ordinance setting speed <br />zones throughout the City. <br />JCH/lj <br />CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENCE. ea -4 <br />r <br />Attachments: I <br />Page 1 of <br />Item No.v <br />
