CITY OF COLTON <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES DIRECTOR <br />Page 2 <br />Ability to: <br />Plan, organize, and direct the installation, cleaning, and repair <br />of water distribution systems; related effectively with engineers, <br />contractors, public and private representatives, and the general <br />public in coordinating construction and maintenance activities and <br />resolving problems. <br />Education and Training <br />Any combination of experience and training that would likely <br />provide the required knowledge and ability is qualifying. A <br />typical way to obtain the knowledge and ability would be: <br />Experience: <br />Five years of progressively responsible water utilities <br />management experience including three years of direct <br />responsible experience in the administration of a water <br />department or major division thereof is required. <br />Education: <br />Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college <br />or university with major coursework in Civil or Sanitary <br />Engineering. Registration as a Civil Engineer in the State <br />of California is highly desirably. <br />LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE <br />Possession of a Class "C" California Driver's License. <br />Possession of a Grade IV Water <br />and Grade IV Water Distribution <br />of California. <br />Approved by Council: <br />Treatment Plant Operator's Certificate <br />Operator's Certificate from the State <br />
