DREWS <br />Electric Utility Director <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Electric Yard Block Wall Project - Phase I to Gosney Construction in the <br />Amount of $33,800.00. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Electric Department purchased property just West of the main substation at 150 South 10th Street. <br />The purchase was made to accomodate the growth of requirements on the substation. On September 25, and <br />October 2, 1992, we advertised for quotations on a Public Project to grade the new property and erect a block <br />wall around the property. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Bid opening was held at 2:30 P.M., October 27, 1992 in the Corporate Yard Conference Room. Six <br />bids were received and all met the requirements of the specifications. The bids ranged in price from $33,800.00 <br />to $55,555.00. A Bid Analysis is attached for your review with the recommended bidder's total price <br />underlined. After review of the bids, references were checked concerning the work of the low bidder. We <br />received very positive comments from the references. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that bid award be made to Gosney Construction in the amount of $33,800.00. <br />Report prepared by Kenneth L.
