CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting October 20, 1992 <br />TO: <br />�� <br />SUBJECT: <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />John C. Hutton, Director of Public Work Date: 10/8/92 <br />DECLARE LANDSCAPE WEST INC., MOST RESPONSIBLE LOW BIDDER <br />AND AWARD CONTRACT FOR THE CITY LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE <br />DISTRICT 79-1 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As the current Landscape Maintenance contract will expire on <br />November 1, 1992. It was necessary to conduct Public Bidding for <br />the renewal of this service to provide maintenance of those <br />landscape areas encompassed by Landscape Maintenance District 79-1. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />On October 1, 1992, six (6) bids were received and opened for the <br />above mentioned service. The bids ranged in amounts from $129,955. <br />to $243,000. The districts staff has reviewed the bids, verified <br />professional references and interviewed the bidders. Landscape <br />West Inc., is the Low Bidder at $129,955. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Funds are budgeted and available for the proposed service. Due to <br />the current economic climate, all bids received were very <br />competitive and substantially lower than what staff had estimated. <br />Thereby allowing the district to experience a considerable savings. <br />ENVIRONMENT IMPACT: <br />None <br />
