ACEVEDO, Finance Directo SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Various Transformers to Date : General Elec�tric Supply in the amount of $1,679.82, Kuhlman Electric in the Amount of $7,185.85, Utilit Products in the Amount of $1,326.17, WESCU Utility the Amount of $1,997.68 and Pauwels Transformers in Amount of $34,311.90 BACKGROUND March 9, 1993 in the Utility transformers are ordered into Electric Stores inventory for use on an as required basis. The quantity and sizes are projected by the City's Electrical Engineer as plan5 are submitted for new development and replacement transformers are needed. On February 9, 1993, General Services advertised for sealed bids for some of these requirements. Bid opening was held at 2:30 p.m., March 2, 1993, in the General Services office. DISCUSSION Seven bids were received and evaluated. A Bid Analysis is attached sh�wing pric�e and delivery quoted. by each vendor. The recommended vendor's price is underlined for each transformer. The total of bid award is listed at the bottom f�r each vendor. Also attached, is a Transfo.rmer Load Loss Evaluation, which �aas prepared on the computer. This evaluation shows the true cost of the transformer over its use:ful lifetime, usiner a combination of load calculations supplied by the transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by the vendor. The lowest ev�luated cost for each transformer is under- lined. RECUMMENDATION Staff recomrn�nds bid award to General Electric Supply in the amount of $1,679.82, Kuhlman E:Lectric in the amount �f $7,185.85, Utility Products in the amount af $1,326.17, WESCO Utility in the amount of $1,997.68 and Pauwels Transformers in the amount of $34,311.90.
