CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For Council Meeting of April 19, 1994
TO: Honorable Mayor, City Council, and 9ty Manager
FROM: Gale A. Drews, Electric Utility Director Date: 4/07/94
SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT WITH AT & SF RAILWAY COMPANY
FOR OVERHEAD ELECTRIC LINE CROSSING NORTH OF "O"
STREET BETWEEN 5TH STREET AND 6TH STREET
BACKGROUND
The Electric Department is in the process of converting the existing 4KV to a 12KV system. This
will help us to eliminate PCB -contaminated 4KV regulators off of the Utility's 4KV South Circuit
from our Hub Substation.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The Department has an existing 12KV circuit on the west side of the railway tracks on "O" Street.
In order to extend this circuit to the east side of the railway tracks and provide the feed for the
proposed 4KV conversion, the Department has to get the required permit from AT & SF Railway
Company and execute the contract agreement..
ALTERNATIVES
The existing La Loma Circuit can be tied in to pick up the proposed 4KV conversion load. The
electrical load of this circuit will not permit us to exercise this option.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
One time administrative processing fee of $750.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
None.
Page 1 of 2 Item No.
