CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT `�aoroorsa,x <br />1887 <br />For Council Meeting of April 19, 1994 l fot <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: April 13, 1994 <br />FROM: JOHN HUTTON <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: FINAL ACCEPTANCE/NOTICE OF COMPLETION PHASE 1 S. LA CADENA DRIVE <br />BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The S. La Cadena Drive Beautification project consists of 3 Phases. Phase 1 <br />is the portion from I-10 Freeway to South of the Congress Street Railroad <br />Crossing. <br />The project involved the installation of new curbs, sidewalks, parkway <br />landscaping, irrigation and street paving at an estimated cost of <br />$696,535.77. With the total for all three phases being 1.6 million. <br />As a clarification to City Council, the construction work, located on the <br />north easterly corner of the intersection of South La Cadena Drive and "O" <br />Street is not part of the S. La Cadena Drive Beautification Project. This <br />street repair work is being handled by City Crews, which is scheduled for <br />completion by the first of May. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Phase 1 of S. La Cadena Drive received two funding sources for its <br />construction of these improvements: <br />1) Community Development Block Grant funds in the amount of <br />$426,951.01 were approved and obligated as a source and the <br />remainder <br />2) San Bernardino County City Fees (a county landfill mitigation <br />fund) was approved by an M.O.U. and obligated an amount of <br />$778,585.65 for the Phase 1 Construction. <br />These two sources totalling $1,205,536.66 covered the Phase 1 Construction <br />and Engineering Contract amount and expenses. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDS: <br />If Council concurs staff would recommend final acceptance of Phase 1 in an <br />amount of $888,428.97 and fina 'Jzing a Notice of Completion. <br />City Manager's Concurrence: <br />Report prepared by John C.
