AGENDA REPORT
CITY OF COLTON
For City Council Meeting of
April 19, 1994
April 6, 1994
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM: Julie Hayward Biggs, City Atto e
SUBJECT: Extension of Moratorium/Reche Canyon, La Loma Hills
As requested, I have prepared the attached extension of the moratorium imposed on
construction in. the Reche Canyon and La Loma Hills area of the City. The extension runs for
a period of ten months and 15 days, which is the statutory time requirement, but may be lifted
prior to that time should the City be satisfied that the risk of additional structural problems in
the area has been adequately addressed in City building standards. Should it be required, the
moratorium may be further extended for another year.
The language of the moratorium has also been amended to address issuance of building
permits for rehabilitation of existing structures. Additionally, a clarification has been added
noting that the moratorium is not intended to apply to ancillary buildings not intended to be built
as dwelling units.
Adoption of this extension requires a four-fifths vote of the City Council, which means
that six councilmembers must vote to approve the extension.
Concurrence:
- 1 -4
City Manager er
mem /V,..
