Staff was authorized to <br />proceed with the recommendations to implement City operation of the Wastewater facility. Before recruitment <br />can begin for positions necessary to operate the Wastewater facility, Council must approve the job descriptions <br />and salary ranges for the positions. <br />It is recommended that Mr. John Ahern, Water Quality Control Inspector be reclassified to Water Quality <br />Technician with specifications that more closely describe the duties being performed by Mr. Ahern. There is <br />no change in salary. Mr. Ahern and John Hutton concur with this recommendation. <br />Mike Lynd, SBPEA employee representative, has been provided with a copy of the proposed job descriptions <br />and salary ranges. Mr. Lynd has been informed that the Wastewater Superintendent position will be in the <br />Management/Confidential Unit and all other positions will be in the General Unit. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The approximate cost of salary and benefits is $365,128 for the first 12 months. This assumes all positions <br />are hired at the "A" step of the salary range. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached salary resolution and approve the attached job descriptions. <br />It is also staff's recommendation that Council authorize the Personnel Department to begin recruitment and fill <br />the positions. <br />Concur: 00,WA ALa:�. <br />City anager <br />Attachments: Resolution <br />Job descriptions <br />B 12:AGENRESO <br />
