AGENDA REPORT <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />For City Council Meeting of <br />August 2, 1994 <br />July 27, 1994 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: Wm. C. Winter, Interim City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Colton Community Center <br />As you may be aware, on July 26, 1994, bids were opened for construction of the <br />Colton Community Center and pool. Steward & Associates, the contract manager, will be <br />evaluating these bids immediately and will be making recommendations for the award of <br />contracts based upon the bids received. Although the contract with Steward & Associates <br />requires that company and the City to enter into a contract with a general contractor for the <br />project prior to giving notice on any bids, it has come to the attention of the City Attorney that <br />no such contract is yet in effect. Steward & Associates has prepared contract documents for the <br />general contractor for the project and submitted them to the City Attorney on July 25, 1994, but <br />no contract has yet been executed. <br />At this preliminary juncture, given the financial situation that the City is in, the <br />Council might wish to revisit this project to determine whether it wishes to proceed further at <br />the present time. Accordingly, at the request of more than one member of the City Council, the <br />status of the Colton Community Center has been placed on this agenda for your discussion, <br />consideration and possible action. <br />,�„ 7ry • Z�-- <br />
