CITY OF COLTON of <br />,,,Porporatea <br />AGENDA REPORT Ux <br />- % <br />a I f of <br />For Council Meeting of December 20, 1994 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: December 13, 1994 <br />FROM: Gracie Fernandez Harmon <br />Personnel Director <br />SUBJECT: APPROVE SALARY RANGE FOR WATER QUALITY TECHNICIAN <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At the Council meeting of August 2, 1994, Council approved the job descriptions and salary resolution for <br />positions in the Water Utilities Division that were recommended by the Feasibility Study. <br />Mr. John Ahearn, Water Quality Control Inspector was reclassified to Water Quality Technician with <br />specifications that more closely described the duties being performed by Mr. Ahearn. The salary was not <br />changed. <br />Administrative Policy 4.05.330, Classification Studies, Procedure 8, states "When an employee is reclassified, <br />he/she is entitled to a salary increase to the "A" step of the salary range for the new classification or a 5% <br />increase over his/her salary before reclassification, whichever is higher". To comply with the reclassification <br />policy staff requests that Council approve the attached resolution increasing the salary of the Water Quality <br />Technician by 5%, retroactive to August 3, 1994. <br />Dave Holmgren, SBPEA employee representative, has been provided with a copy of the proposed salary range. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The approximate cost of salary and benefits is $2,240 annually. There is no impact on the General Fund.
