COLTON STREET <br />IMPROVEMENTS - "M", CONGRESS, AND SIXTH STREETS <br />DISCUSSION: <br />As one of the Council approved Capital Improvements projects targeted for the <br />South Colton area, the Community Development Block Grant Program (C.D.B.G.) <br />is the Colton Street Improvements - "M", Congress, and Sixth Streets. The <br />scope of work consists of renovation and reconstruction of Public off-site <br />Improvements. <br />The project has funding approval by the County Department of Economic and <br />Community Development (E.C.D.) in the amount of $151,513.58, which includes <br />a cost savings from the northeasterly C.D.B.G. Colton Street Improvements - <br />Olive, Bordwell, La Cadena and Mt. Vernon, in the amount of $60,338. The <br />project cost saving transfer was approved by City Council on November 1, <br />1994. The City has been officially notified as to (E.C.D.) approval to <br />advertise the Colton Street Improvements - "M", Congress and Sixth Street, <br />E.C.D. #104-17305 and Case #0916. <br />The Engineer's Construction estimate is $167,962.03 and with a contract <br />duration of 45 working days. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />There is no financial impact to the City's General Fund. The requested <br />action is only to authorize staff to advertise the project for bid. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />If Council concurs, authorize staff to proceed with the advertizement and <br />formal bid process of the Colton C.D.B.G.
