CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT (Continued) <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF February 1, 1994 <br />SUBJECT: AWARD OF BID FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE AND RELATED VEHICLE <br />MAINTENANCE TRAINING TO SOLECTRIA IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$32,947.25 <br />On December 16, 1993, General Services advertised for sealed bids for a four passenger electric <br />vehicle. Bid opening was held at 2:30 P.M., January 4, 1994, in the General Services Office. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Two bids were received and evaluated. A bid Analysis is attached showing price and delivery <br />quoted by each vendor. It was not clear to staff whether additional costs would be required under <br />the U.S. Electricar bid for technical on-site training. <br />After reviewing the proposals, staff recommends that the radio option not be included with the <br />purchase, under either bid, due to cost. In addition, Staff recommends a range extender option, <br />included in the Solectria list of options, be included with the Solectria bid at a cost of $280.00. <br />This brings total costs under the Solectria bid, as revised, to $32,947.25; the total costs under U. <br />S. Electricarbid,, as revised, to $43,163.84. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />This purchase has been budgeted. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends bid award to Solectria in the amount of $32,947.25. <br />City Manager's Concurrence: <br />Report prepared by: Mary J.
