CITY OF COLTON <br />DIRECTOR OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AND HUMAN "SOURCES <br />DEFINITION• <br />Under general administrative direction, plans, organizes and <br />directs the activities of the City's Affirmative Action, Human <br />Resources and Contract Compliance functions. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: <br />This is a single position class characterized by responsibility to <br />develop and administer the City's Affirmative Action, Contract <br />Compliance and Personnel Management Programs which includes <br />Recruitment? Examination, Selection, classification, Employee <br />Relations, Affirmative Action, Employee Development, Organizational <br />Development, Employee Benefits, Personnel Records /Transactions and <br />Contract Compliance and Workers' Compensation functions. The <br />incumbent serves as principal advisor to the City Manager, Mayor <br />and City Council on personnel program compliance and organizational <br />matters. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: <br />Receives general direction from the City Manager. <br />Exercises direct and technical supervision over paraprofessional <br />and clerical staff. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: <br />Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />Plan, develop, implement and administer the City's Affirmative <br />Action Program. Evaluate program effectiveness and initiate <br />changes as required. Ensure coordination with City officials, <br />affected departments and organizations. <br />Plan, develop, implement and administer the City's Personnel <br />Programs. Evaluate program effectiveness and initiate changes as <br />required. Ensure coordination with City officials, affected <br />departments and organizations. <br />Plan, develop, implement and administer the City's Contract <br />Compliance Program.
