YOUNG <br />City Manager <br />SUBJECT Award of Bid for Wood Poles and Crossarms for the Electric Department to J. H. Baxter Co. <br />in the Amount of $16,847.52 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Wood poles and crossarms are purchased into Electric Stores for use by the Electric Department on an "as <br />required" basis. The quantities are determined by history of past usage and requirements from the City's <br />Electrical Engineer. On December 2, 1993, General Services advertised for sealed bids for some of these <br />requirements. Bid opening was held at 3:00 p.m., December 20, 1993, in the General Services office. Five <br />bids were received and evaluated. A Bid Analysis is attached, showing price and delivery terms from each <br />vendor. The recommended vendor's price is underlined. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />No financial impact. These items are budgeted in routine maintenance accounts for the Electric Department. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the award of this bid to J. H.
