Lavin, Water Utilities Manager \ <br />SUBJECT: Date: November 30, 1993 <br />Award of Contract for 12th St., Armory Ct. and <br />"A" Ct. Water Line Replacement Project, City Project PU93-5 <br />BACKGROUND <br />On November 29, 1993 staff received 11 bids for the 12th St., Armory Ct. and <br />"A" Ct. water line replacement project. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The water line replacement project will replace the 6" water lines with 8" water <br />lines, replacing the existing water services and fire hydrants with new water <br />services and new fire hydrant assemblies. In addition, the three streets will be <br />overlaid curb to curb instead of trench repairs. The street overlay is being <br />recommended due to the condition of the street and the number of trenches to be <br />made for each water service and the new water lines. <br />Staff has reviewed the bids (bid analysis attached) and recommends that EI -Co <br />Contractors be awarded the contract. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The FY93-94 budget has sufficient funds in the Capital Improvement, Water Line <br />Replacement Account for this project. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council award the 12th St., Armory Ct. and "A" Ct.
