CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of JAN.18,1994 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />of <br />-GA �p <br />U .�oorporara <br />1887 <br />a I fot 4 <br />DATE:DECEMBER 2, 1993 <br />FROM: JOHN HUTTON <br />Public Works Director <br />JECT: Approval to Designate Alley at Electrical Substation between 9th and <br />10th Streets as a one-way alley with westbound traffic only. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />This alley is located between 9th Street and 10th Street, north of "L" Street <br />and is utilized for access to the "electrical substation so there is a <br />considerable amount of truck traffic in this alley, the Electric Utility <br />Department has petitioned the Traffic Committee to designate this alley as a <br />one-way alley with westbound traffic only. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The residents on the south side of this alley were contacted and they have no <br />apposition to the designination of this alley as a one-way alley. The <br />'traffic Committe also believes that this would create a safer traffic pattern <br />for the residents and the employees of the Electric Utility Department, and <br />recommended the designation as a one-way alley <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that if the Council concurrs this alley be designated a one- <br />way alley with westbound traffic only. <br />I <br />Deport prepared by: <br />Brian Baden <br />.9J, gte, y <br />
