Lav�n, Water Ut�l�t�es Manager <br />SUBJCCT: <br />Date: <br />Approva) of Wastewater Treatment Plant Feasibility <br />Study by Kennedy-Jenks, Consultants and Authorize <br />ta to rocee w�t ecommen ations to mp ement <br />City Operations for Wastewater <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On February 1, 1994 Council authorized Kennedy-Jenks to prepare a Feasibility <br />Study for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />At the May 9, 1994 Utilities Commission meeting, the completed Feasibility Study <br />was approved by the Commission. Attached is a copy of Kennedy-Jenks, <br />Consultants' recommendation and implementation schedule. The City needs to <br />notify the contractor by May 18, 1994 in order to meet the terms of the existing <br />contract. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the Feasibility Study by Kennedy-Jenks, <br />Consultants; Authorize Staff to Proceed with Recommendations to Implement City <br />Operations for Wastewater; Approve the recommended actions in the <br />Implementation Schedule; Approve the attached job descriptions; and Authorize <br />Personnel to begin Recruitment on May 18,1994 for the Wastewater positions. <br />LJ/Ij _ <br />CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENCE: <br />Attachments: <br />Item No. 27 <br />Page 1 of___ _ Item No <br />
