PRINDEVILLE <br />Interim Personnel Director <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF UP TO SIX MONTH EXTENSION OF THE PROVISIONAL <br />APPOINTMENT FOR ANDRES SOTO PRINCIPAL PLANNER <br />BACKGROUND <br />The provisional appointment for Andres Soto, Principal Planner, will expire on May 9, 1994. Personnel Rule <br />IX, Section 6, states, , The City Council may, by a four-fifths vote, extend beyond six months, the period for <br />provisional appointment. David Zamora, Community Development Director, has requested that Council <br />extend the provisional appointment for six months until the hiring freeze is lifted and recruitment for the <br />position can be completed. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is staff's recommendation that the City Council approve an extension of the provisional appointment for <br />Andres Soto, Principal Planner, for up to six months. <br />Concur <br />—JK— <br />'City Manager <br />JP/as <br />B11:AGENPROV <br />3 <br />
